The sustainable development indicators adopted by the government are used to measure and monitor the progress of Québec society in terms of sustainable development. The identification and classification of these indicators are based on a conceptual approach called the « bequeathed capital approach », which draws heavily on the work of the international group of experts called the Working Group on Statistics for Sustainable Development .
