The data presented in this section are taken from Statistics Canada’s Survey of Advanced Technology, 2007
. The objective of this survey is to measure the technological capabilities of establishments in the manufacturing industries. More specifically, it collects information on the adoption and use of certain advanced technologies, the effects of their adoption, the sources of information or help leading to their adoption, and the use of emerging technologies, such as geomatic or geospatial technologies, biotechnology, and nanotechnology. The survey also aims to collect information on the innovation practices and research and development activities of establishments.
